Commons 1.10.3

I’ve just released version 1.10.3 of the CUNY Academic Commons. This maintenance release features a number of improvements:

  • HTTPS is now enforced across all domains ending in commons.gc.cuny.edu
  • Improved database performance for Commons home page
  • Improved behavior when responding by email to notifications that do not support replies

Commons 1.10.2

I’ve just released version 1.10.2 of the CUNY Academic Commons. This maintenance release includes major updates for themes and plugins, including an upgrade to BuddyPress 2.7.x. The release also features a few important fixes:

  • Performance improvements and caching for MailPoet newsletters
  • Improved workflow for certain Reply By Email mail types
  • Fixed bug that caused fatal errors when PressForward and Jetpack were used together

Commons 1.9.8

I’ve just released version 1.9.8 of the CUNY Academic Commons. This maintenance release is also a major-theme-and-plugin update release. In addition to theme and plugin updates, a number of bugs were addressed in this release:

  • Replying by email to a forum post that allows for threading will now properly associate your new reply with its parent
  • The Search Results page (displaying results when using the Google Custom Search in the site header) now works properly when loaded over HTTPS

Commons 1.7.7

I’ve just released version 1.7.7 of the CUNY Academic Commons. This maintenance release, which is also a major-update release, contains a number of plugin updates, as well as:

  • Improved stability for reply by email functionality
  • Fixed a bug that incorrectly showed an error message when inviting members to a group during group creation

I’ve just released version 1.7.3 of the CUNY Academic Commons. Highlights of this maintenance release:

  • Improved cache validation for home page widgets
  • Improved handling of some Reply By Email errors
  • Fixed formatting of some plain-text emails
  • Fixed bug that prevented editing of the Positions profile widget in some cases
  • Fixed bug that caused new Docs in private groups to be invisible to some members
  • Force CAPTCHAs wherever Contact Form 7 is used
  • Added promotional video to home page

Commons 1.6.7

I’ve just released version 1.6.7 of the CUNY Academic Commons. This maintenance release includes:

  • Updates to Reply By Email that should help to address duplicate posts
  • A fix for HTML email notifications related to group blog posts
  • Reinstate the ability for group admins to determine which members can invite others to the group

Commons 1.4.31

I’ve just released version 1.4.31 of the CUNY Academic Commons. 1.4.31 is the second of our monthly releases during the summer of 2013, and includes a number of fixes and small features. Highlights:

  • Security updates to WordPress and BuddyPress
  • Elegant Themes updated
  • A number of new plugins: Page Excerpt, Easy Rotator, Column Shortcodes, Next Page Buttons, Page Links Plus: Single Page, WP Post to PDF
  • New WP themes: Aggregate, Lucid
  • Fixed a bug that prevented recent groupblog posts from appearing on front page of the site
  • Improvements to reply by email functionality
