I’ve just released version 2.6.0 of the CUNY Academic Commons. Version 2.6.0 is one of our twice-yearly “feature releases”, which introduce new functionality to the Commons, in contrast to the bug fixes and smaller improvements introduced in twice-monthly “maintenance releases”. Included in 2.6.0:

• Improved richness and consistency for email notifications generated by various actions throughout the Commons
• Improvements to the site creation process, to increase reliability when cloning and during template copying
• Improvements to the “threading” settings for group forums
• Fixed a bug that caused Courses to appear in the directory even after the corresponding site was deleted
• Added the ability to add external links to a group library without sending email notifications to the group
