Commons 1.9.5

I’ve just released version 1.9.5 of the CUNY Academic Commons. This maintenance release is a major plugin/theme update release, including an update to WordPress 4.4.1 and BuddyPress 2.4.3. The release also includes a number of small bugfixes:

  • Fixed the positioning of Social Paper notification messages to avoid garbled text
  • Fixed the layout of multiple-group notices for forum posts to avoid overlap with forum text
  • Replaced some missing and incorrect elements on the sidebar of the News page

Commons 1.8.11

I’ve just released version 1.8.11 of the CUNY Academic Commons. This maintenance release is a major-theme-and-plugin release, which includes a major version upgrade to WordPress (4.3.x).

A number of notable fixes in the release:

  • Improved Quick Link flow so that users automatically receive links
  • Fixed bug that prevented users from downloading iCal file related to non-public events
  • Fixed incorrect event permalinks in activity streams

Commons 1.7.10

I’ve just released version 1.7.10 of the CUNY Academic Commons. This is a maintenance release, which most notably upgrades our installation of WordPress to v4.1.

Commons 1.7.4

I’ve just released version 1.7.4 of the CUNY Academic Commons. This maintenance release includes a security update to WordPress, as well as a number of bug fixes:

  • New plugins: Google Maps Embed, Collapse-O-Matic, Projects by Woothemes
  • Fixed bug with CAPTCHAs in Contact Form 7
  • Fixed bug preventing multiple attachments to forum posts

Commons 1.6.4

I’ve just released version 1.6.4 of the CUNY Academic Commons. This is a maintenance release. Major items:

– Major plugin updates, as announced in https://dev.commons.gc.cuny.edu/2014/05/06/major-commons-plugin-updates-scheduled-for-may-21-2014/. Notably, this includes BuddyPress 2.0.1, which is a major update for the platform and should result in notable performance improvements throughout the social parts of the site.
– Update WordPress to 3.9.1
– A number of minor plugin updates

– Fixed bug that caused fatal errors when creating groups in some cases
– Fixed bug that caused improper error feedback when adding a link to your profile
